Municipal elections are often decided by small margins, and many people don’t vote. That makes your vote count more. If you want a councillor who fights to get the basics right, this is your chance.

Early voting runs two weeks. Choose a day to see where you can vote in Ward 4 and when.
Suzan is the second name under Regional and Town Councillor. Mark an X in the box to the right of the name. The Town Councillor race is separate, so mark that one too.
Bring ID that shows your name and Oakville address, such as an Ontario driver’s licence, Ontario photo card, utility bill, bank or credit statement, or insurance policy. Not sure you are on the voters’ list? Check with the Town’s “Am I on the list” tool.

I am at doors and community events almost every day. The same issues keep coming up.
Traffic and gridlock
Fixing signal timing, speeding, cut-throughs and noise.
Smart growth
Stopping new builds from outpacing local infrastructure.
Lower taxes
Pushing for fiscal restraint and freezes to keep Oakville affordable.
Better snowplows
Enforcing Tier 1 and 2 accountability so residents are not blocked in.
Reliable waste pickup
Consistent weekly summer pickups and clean bus stops.
Common-sense hours
Fixing mismatched track, facility and Sunday library hours.
True inclusivity
Representing all residents and standing up against local exclusions.
Protecting our green space
Strong safeguards against unregulated development, and keeping the Glen Abbey Golf Course protected from overdevelopment.
Where does Ward 4’s money go? I asked.
The question
In May, I filed information requests to see how our tax dollars are reinvested in Ward 4’s roads and infrastructure.
The answer
“Oakville doesn’t track infrastructure spending by ward.”
My plan
Build the paper trail Ward 4 deserves, working with the Town and Halton Region. A journalist’s eye for detail, a business career’s habit of accountability.
Already under way: I’m logging every resident concern about local and regional roads in Ward 4.
Tell me about a road problem
A strong, energetic, proactive voice at Town and Region.
With two decades in journalism (National Post), PR and brand communications, I bring strategic insight and a people-first approach to community leadership.
But a polished corporate résumé or academic theory won’t fix our daily pain points. We need a councillor who will fight to get the basics right. Ward 4 needs a doer, not the status quo. Through my past board work with Environmental Defence, I know that protecting our town requires serious, structural policy, not just public relations.
I will champion Oakville’s environment by advocating for strong safeguards against unregulated development and massive residential sprawl. Keeping the Glen Abbey Golf Course protected from overdevelopment is a top priority for our entire town.
I am a second-generation Canadian. My family came here from Hong Kong over half a century ago, and my husband’s family has been here since the 1700s. We have spent over a decade raising our kids in a true blend of old and new Oakville.
Town and Regional Council needs a fresh, strong and constructive voice that will work with all levels of government to protect Oakville’s interests. Ward 4 needs a champion who combines bottom-line business discipline with fierce, on-the-ground, full-time commitment. That is exactly what I will deliver.
